Our Story & Community Roots
Universal Electronic Alarms (UEA) began as Universal Electronic Service in 1960, founded by Jack Kaufman, a U.S. Navy radio technician turned entrepreneur. After a warehouse break-in, Jack designed one of the first alarm communicators that could alert police directly, an innovation that set the foundation for UEA’s mission: protecting people and property with reliable, forward-thinking systems.
From those early days, UEA grew with the Antelope Valley community, expanding into a 10,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Lancaster by 1998 and earning federal contracts alongside more than 1,000 active accounts. That growth has always been powered by integrity, technical expertise, and local pride.
Today, UEA delivers advanced life safety and security solutions for defense, education, healthcare, and commercial clients. We continue to hire from our community, invest in our team, and engineer systems that perform where failure is not an option.
